Sandeep has always been drawn towards exploring the mysteries of life. After building a promising career as a financial consultant in Washington, D.C., he felt that there must be something more. In 2011 he spent half a year traveling around India to ancient places of yogic significance and spent time in the Himalayas searching for answers to life's deeper questions. The experience left him changed forever and inspired him to accelerate his exploration along the yogic path.
In 2013 he spent 6 months full-time in India training under the guidance of Sadhguru to become an Isha Hatha Yoga Instructor. Since then he has dedicated his life to teaching classical Hatha Yoga full-time all across the U.S. and Canada. When he is not teaching yoga he can be found hiking the mountains or traveling to ancient places around the globe.
My story is simple. I was deeply affected by health issues since my early childhood, and I needed a way to walk out of them and to enjoy my life. After years of research and trying various modalities, I found the Isha Yoga Center. Since then, I witnessed a tremendous change within myself in every way: better health, increased energy and creativity, improved self-awareness, and a deeper experience and understanding of life's everyday things.
After 12 years working as a physical therapist, I decided to leave my career and move in the direction that has left the greatest and most lasting impact on my life — Isha yoga. My hope is to equip people with proven and effective ways to find their own fulfillment.
Since 2013, I have been teaching in various cities, states, countries, and settings. I have taught retreats, corporations, schools, groups and privately, and other community events. We have people of all ages come to our classes. It has been the greatest privilege of my life.

Upa Yoga is a simple yet powerful system of exercise that activates the joints, muscles and energy system. Based on a sophisticated understanding of the body’s mechanics, Upa Yoga releases the inertia in the energy and brings ease to the whole system.
Within the human system, the energy flows along 72,000 pathways called nadis. At the joints, the nadis form energy nodes, making the joints storehouses of energy. Upa Yoga activates this energy and also lubricates the joints, creating an instant sense of alertness and liveliness.
Upa Yoga essentially means “sub-yoga” or “pre-yoga”. Because of its many immediate and evident benefits, the word Upa Yoga in Indian languages is commonly used to denote “usefulness.”
Angamardana is a system rooted in yoga, that offers to everyone the opportunity to invigorate the body and to reach peak physical and mental health. “Angamardana” means, gaining complete mastery over the limbs, organs and other parts of the body. True to its name, this practice revitalizes the body on all levels including the muscles, blood circulation, skeletal structure, nervous system, and the basic energy system.
Designed by Sadhguru to be of universal appeal and application, Isha Angamardana needs no fitness equipment. It involves only the body and floor exercises that can be practiced anywhere, even during travel.
Surya Kriya, which is the origin of the Sun Salutation, is an ancient yogic practice which is a powerful sequence of 21 postures. It is designed as a holistic process for health, wellness and complete inner well-being. “Surya” means “Sun,” and “Kriya” means “inner energy process.” Surya Kriya activates the solar plexus within the system and balances a person’s energies, leading to stability of the body and stillness of the mind.
Traditionally available only to select groups of yogis, Surya Kriya is being offered by Sadhguru as a comprehensive yogic practice that is ideal for the hectic pace of today’s world.
Surya Shakti is an active form of the Sun Salutation. It is an ancient yogic practice which is a powerful sequence of 18 postures. It is designed as a holistic process for great physical fitness. “Surya” means “Sun,” and “Shakti” means “energy”. Surya Shakti cultivates great physical fitness and strength.
The word asana literally means a posture. Out of the innumerable asanas a body can take, 84 have been identified as Yogasanas through which one can transform the body and mind into a great possibility for ultimate wellbeing. Yogasanas are not exercices, rather very subtle processes to manipulate one’s energy in a particular direction.
Body is a constant manifestation of various levels of compulsiveness, and so by consciously getting the body into a certain posture and making it a conducive passage, one can elevate his consciousness. Yogasanas are a way of aligning the inner system and adjusting it to the celestial geometry, becoming in sync with the existence, and thus naturally achieving a chemistry of healthfulness, joyfulness and blissfulness, and above all balance.
The basis for all creation, including the physical body, is the group of five elements: earth, water, wind, fire, and space. The wellbeing of the body and mind can be established by purifying these five elements within the human system. This process also shapes the body into a stepping stone towards one’s ultimate wellbeing.
There is a whole system of yoga called Bhuta Shuddhi, which means “purification of the elements.” The Bhuta Shuddhi processes offered by Isha provide a unique opportunity for everyone to benefit from this esoteric yogic science, which otherwise requires intense sadhana (spiritual practices).
Our eyes are the windows through which we perceive and explore this world. However, today our eyes are constantly exposed to the glaring screen and therefore restricted to limited movements, be it because of sitting in front of the computer, television or phones. As a result, our eyes gradually lose the flexibility in the eye muscles which impacts our ability to focus at different distances, commonly known as short-sightedness (myopia) or long-sightedness (hypermetropia).
Isha’s eye care program offers a natural way through yogic practices to improve these vision related issues. The Eye Care Programme has been designed to correct these anomalies thereby giving us an opportunity to stop further deterioration of our eyesight, or the need to wear glasses or avoid the much invasive route of corrective eye surgery. As well as providing relaxation to tired eyes and enhancing our concentration, these practices are highly recommended for the optimal health of eyes we so desire in today’s hectic life.
Shanmukhi mudra is a simple, yet subtle practice which brightens and rejuvenates the face and eyes and brings about a state of balance leading toward increased awareness and meditativeness.
The process of pregnancy, childbirth and parenthood can be both profound and beautiful. This experience can be enhanced even further through regular practice of yoga and meditation, as it helps mothers-to-be maintain a stable body, a still mind and balanced emotions. By cultivating a joyful pregnancy, one paves the way for a vibrant life for their child. The practices offered in this program will aid in relieving back pain, tension and anxiety throughout the pregnancy and during delivery. With a focus on over all health and wellbeing, this workshop will nurture positivity and offer support to enhance the lives of both the mother and child.
